IAVSP is currently accepting applications and open enrollment forms for students in grades K-8 for the 2004-05 school year (see below eligibility requirements). Any student who resides in Iowa is eligible to participate. Admission to the school is based on age and completion and submission of all enrollment forms and materials within state and district guidelines. Enrollment Process
Step 2: After you fill out the pre-application, fill out our online tutorial to determine whether the Iowa Virtual School Program is right for your family. Step 3: Take the placement tests for Math and Language Arts/English to determine the appropriate level to enroll your child in. All students must take these placement tests and submit the results in order to enroll. Failure to take these tests or submit the results prior to enrollment submission will delay your child's course assignment and acceptance into the school. Click here to submit your child's scores. Step 4: Download and complete one Open Enrollment Application for each child you wish to enroll. Please note the eligibility requirements below. For Item #14 on the Open Enrollment Application, check box (a) if your child is a regular education student or check box (b) if your child is a special education student. Make two copies of the application. Send the original to IAVSP at the address below, send one copy to your resident school district, and keep the third copy for your personal records. For students participating in Iowa's Open Enrollment Program in the 2004-2005 school year: Eligible students in grades K-8 may choose to participate in Iowa's Open Enrollment Program to attend IAVSP by January 1, 2004. IAVSP shall fulfill the stated intent of "Open Enrollment" passed by the Iowa general assembly to "permit a wide range of educational choices for children enrolled in schools in this state and to maximize ability to use those choices." The open enrollment law is designed to be construed broadly to maximize parental choice and access to educational opportunities that are not available to children because of where they live.
